The same basic method applies whether you are bidding in a Sealed Bid Sales Event or an Open Internet Auction. First you need to log in to 'Liquidity Services' website, www.Liquibiz.com. Bids can only be placed when the Sales Event is open for bidding.
There are two ways to place bids:
Bid through the Lot Details screen:
At the bottom of each Lot Details page is the bid box. Enter any value at or above the “Minimum Bid” or “Lowest You May Bid” price, then press the submit bid button. Please note that the Bidding currency is GBP. If the bid box is missing, then the auction has not yet opened for bidding or has already closed.
Bid through the Watchlist:
When viewing the Lot Listings you can add a Lot to your Watchlist by simply clicking inside the small white checkbox to the far left of the lot row. After you have selected all the lots you are interested in, scroll to the top or bottom of the page and click on "Add to Watchlist".
Please be sure to click on "Add to Watchlist" before advancing to the next page or your lots will not be saved properly.
Next click on on the “Go To Watchlist” button where you will find your selected Lots listed. Enter your bid(s) in the box(es) provided , then press the Submit Bids button.
By confirming your bid you are accepting our Terms and Conditions. You will then see a Placed Bid Report that confirms your bid details. An email confirming that your bid has been placed is also sent to you. The Placed Bid Report will return you to the Lot Detail Page, or you can check the status of your bid by clicking 'My Account > Watchlist'.
First you should log in, then use 'My Account > Watchlist' to check the status of the bids. Use your browser refresh button or select “Auto-Refresh” to keep this up-to-date.
Yes, with the exception of aerospace sales Events, each lot has a required minimum bid. For Sealed Bid Auctions, the minimum bid is shown as part of the Lot Detail page. For Open Internet Auctions, there will be an increasing “Lowest You May Bid” amount as the auction progresses and other bids are placed.
5 GBP
Proxy Bidding only applies to Open Internet Auctions and is automatically enabled on the Liquidity Services website. Our software will automatically increase your bid by the minimum increment each time a rival bid is received. You can be assured that your maximum will only be used if there is a bid up to this level from a rival bidder. You may disable Proxy Bidding in the Watchlist.
Yes. For Open Internet Auctions it is suggested you bid the maximum price you are prepared to pay for the lot and then let the system bid automatically in bid increments for you. See Proxy Bidding above.
For Open Internet Auctions if you have bid more than the Lowest You May Bid, your Placed Bid Report will show Your Bid as a range from “Your Lowest Bid” (that is the Lowest Bid you could have placed) up to “Your Highest Bid” (the maximum amount the Proxy Bidder will place).
This means that if you are outbid by any amount between these prices your bid will be automatically increased within the range up to your maximum.
No, a bid is a binding contract. Once the bid has been placed, it cannot be cancelled or retracted.
It is not our policy to reveal the identities of other customers to preserve the integrity of the process.
For a real time picture of the status of your bids in an Open Internet Auction please check your My Account > Watchlist.
You should use your browser refresh button or enable the 60 second Auto-Refresh tool to keep this up-to-date.
We do not advise you when you are outbid to prevent clogging your email account with emails.
Only in the case of an 'Open Internet Auction', when a bid is submitted within the final 5 minutes of its closure do we automatically extend the closing time by 5 minutes in order to maximise your opportunity to outbid the previous bidder. This process will continue until all bidding activity has ceased for that Lot for 5 minutes.
After the sales Event has closed, the winner will receive a successful bidder email notification with payment instructions.
Once we receive and process your payment, we will notify the warehouse that the property can be released to you or your designated shipper. You will receive an email that advises your goods are cleared for collection.
Your invoice will reflect all charges including the final bid price, the Buyer’s Premium (if applicable) and any applicable taxes. Any packing and delivery charges will be on a separate invoice..
The lot will be awarded to the customer whose bid was entered first.
The winning bids for Sealed Bid Sales Events will not be published on our website.
You will be able to see winning bids of closed Open Internet Auctions but only for those Lots on which you bid yourself.
